    Weight Loss Procedures- Liposuction or Bariatric?

    Reduction in total body mass due to fluid, bone mineral deposits, tissue or muscle/tendon escapement through increased metabolism, sweat or more exercise/work than required intake of calorific value of the body is termed as weight loss.

    Weight loss includes many tactics and techniques, some are intentional and others may be unintentional. Further, slimming occurs due to subsidized intake of threshold calories and more exercise as a result it cuts down the hyper-tension (high blood-pressure) and may increase mobility in people with some diseases like arthritis.

    Several procedures are available but very few are workable in context to reduce obesity or fat, these include natural ways, dietary supplements and surgical treatments like liposuction, bariatric gastric bypass and stomach banding to limit the intake.

    To make changes in chubby body, a person should make changes in lifestyle, eating habits also and exercise is also mandatory to maintain the balanced weight of the body.

    Liposuction

    Liposuction or simply “lipo” is a cosmetic surgery generally performed to shed the overweight in the body; it is mainly done for an aesthetic reason normally involves protruded parts of the body with fat like belly, thighs, chest etcetera. The procedure may involve local, general or regional anesthesia to keep the patient calm and cannula, a hollow tube and retarded pressures, aspirator (a suction device) to suck the unwanted fat out, and liposuction surgery in India costs between 80,000- 10,000.

    Bariatric surgery

    Bariatric treatment is recommended for obese people, it is not done taking aesthetics into consideration and it obesity is due to imbalances created by some impaired glucose tolerance, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, and obstructive sleep apnea.

    Conditions and consequences:

    If patient have BMI (body mass index) ranging between 30-35 should be eligible for this operation and patients with BMI 40 or more have high risk of anxiety and depression, it has been noted that nearly half of the bariatric patients are prone to stress.

    A patient who had tried a lot to losing weight through natural and exercise but due to some pre-existing problems like diabetes, thyroid gland and arthritis does not allow person to go weight less.

    There are some other causes which adds to gain weight like, stress, boredom fats, added sugars, refined carbohydrates and alcohol consumption. Moreover, genetics, certain medication, food addiction, engineered “hyper palatable” Junk foods, insulin and leptins are responsible for weight gain.

    Obesity also brings diseases such as cardio-vascular, and diabetes also.
