Good things take time to show results. The same holds true for hair transplant as well. If you have had a hair transplant surgery, then you will have to be patient to see the results. Of course, you will get the desired results but you will have to wait for some time before the results actually show up. Although some doctors profess that the hair will be back in a month, it is actually not so in reality.
Why the Delay?
Post-transplant, hair growth will be a gradual phenomenon. It will also vary from person to person as the pattern of individual growth varies. Usually, it may start reappearing after four months. But it may take time up to 1 year to show the full effect. The time taken for the hair to grow back also depends on the type of hair transplant you opted for. While the initial growth will not be thick, it will start improving after a period of 1 year. You will be able to see full-blown hair growth only after a period of 10 to 12 months. This will, of course, be when you have opted for a suitable clinic for the procedure. If you have committed the folly of going to a cheap clinic with no credibility, the results might not show up ever. You may end up trying the procedure again and again without any visible results.
Phases of Hair Transplant
There are many phases of a hair transplant-
- First quarter –It pertains to the first four months after the transplant. It does not register any growth but shows the shedding of the original hair.
- Second quarter –In this stage( which is from the fourth to the eighth month after the transplant ), the hair starts coming back, with the emergence of almost 70 % of hair.
- Third quarter –In the eighth to the twelfth month, the hair starts thickening and you see your hair coming back.
The phases mentioned above may vary from individual to individual. Some people might experience phases in different time spans. On the whole, the patient must see full hair growth after a period of a year. The procedure is extremely safe but one has to be cautious about the doctor and the clinic. It also needs some patience as the results take some time to show. One can’t expect a miracle the very next day after the transplant. Don’t get disheartened if you don’t see the results for several days. If you have made the right choice of doctor and clinic, you need not worry.
